As the Gulf Coast areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas are being
pounded by Katrina and Rita let us not forget to BE PREPARED. Be aware of
any scam operations stating they are working for or taking donations for
the American Red Cross or Salvation Army, you can donate direct to either
of these organizations:

Well the Boy Scout Fall Camporee has come and gone and has left many
good tales behind. One of the event coordinators stated "Venture Crew 5
did a great job of serving as the backbone of the Camporee acting as the
registrars, police force, and ‘go-to’ people making a huge difference in
the success of the event."
What an example of how the scouting program are helping the youth of
today step up to the plate learning and practicing leadership and
citizenship skills. Not to say giving back to the community in which they
live. WAY TO GO VENTURERS.

Another quote from a Scouter who is very involved in Emergency
Preparedness activities in Circle Ten "As always, outstanding job! The
best Camporee E. Prep. theme we have seen so far. Yes, the pictures will
be sent to you and on to others as well. The example of excellence you
have shown has set in motion a model that all Scouting will need to
emulate."
Congratulations to all who came together and put on such a great
event.
